Prayon will increase its food-grade sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) production capacity by 10 kt

Com mais de um século de experiência, a empresa Prayon, líder mundial na produção de fosfato, acaba de anunciar seu mais recente investimento em uma nova unidade de produção de hexametafosfato de sódio de grau alimentício (SHMP).

With this investment, production capacity will increase to 10 kt and will strengthen Prayon’s position in the food additives sector, among others. This will enable Prayon to meet the growing customer demand for additives for food applications, as well as the growing in-house needs for the production of essential ingredients such as Carfosel™ (for meat and seafood) and Kasomel™ (for cheese).

The new plant will be built at its headquarters in Engis, Belgium, and will complement the current SHMP production site in Les Roches-de-Condrieu (France). Operations are expected to begin in 2023.
